New Year 2013

Can I just say...I am SO FREAKIN EXCITED about 2013?!?!?!?!

So far this year I've landed in Colorado, welcomed in the New Year with a champagne toast, woken up and fed alpacas and chickens, met my first Anatolian Shepherd Dog (and I *WILL* be owning one of these amazing animals when I finally settle down), ridden on and driven an ATV for the very first time, and napped to my heart's content. If this is how the rest of the year is going to go, I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

2012 was a great yet challenging year. Like any year, it had its ups and downs - I had some challenges in my job, had to learn to deal with anxiety, and learned how to deal with poor roommate situations while at the same time I met awesome new people, traveled to new places/tried new experiences, and explored the culinary delights of the places I visited.

I always like to make New Years Resolutions (generally in one of my infamous, ultra-organized spreadsheets) but here are a few 2013 resolutions I'd like to share with you:

  • Take at least 3 major trips over the course of the year: San Francisco, Quebec, and Miami
  • Have the 'Yes Man' mentality - if someone asks me to try something or an opportunity arises, say yes to trying new things!
  • Create a budget and STICK TO IT
  • Continue with my fledgling health regime - 6 am workouts at least 3 times a week and healthier eating patterns
  • Giving - I'd like to be more giving with my time and money (if any of you have any volunteer suggestions in the Boston area, please let me know!)
  • Find my passion - I have some big changes coming up this year (namely the end of my current work program) and I'd like to find work that excites me and challenges me...I don't know if that means starting my own business, moving to a new city, or trying something completely off the wall
  • Become fluent again in French
  • Be more caring, loving, and understanding of those around me, whether they're friends, acquaintances, or complete strangers - I'd like to stop judging and be more loving to the people I meet in my life

So that's my New Years Post for 2013 - be sure to check back when I return from my Colorado vacation to see all the awesome pictures I've been taking!
